Announcing Shingletown – A New Ballard Restaurant
The Loft has been here for several years, and in that time, we have built up a loyal following of customers. Our popularity as a local eatery and busy sports bar (no matter what the sport) has grown. And for a couple of years now, we’ve wanted to expand and add some new (and old) flavor to the neighborhood…
Coming very soon (we’re shooting for this weekend July 18th and 19th) from the owners behind Ballard Loft, we will be opening a new Ballard restaurant, Shingletown Northwest Pub & Eatery.
It’s a new kid on the block, but the atmosphere has old roots. Way back in the 1890s, after the Seattle Fire, Old Ballard was packed with cedar mills that led most of the United States in shingle manufacturing. During this time, Ballard carried the nickname of ‘Shingletown USA’.
With Shingletown Northwest Pub & Eatery, we’re harkening back to those old roots. The new restaurant will have vintage features as well as contemporary aspects that replicate things from the Shingletown of the early 1900s. We have authentic cedar shingles and antique saws incorporated in the décor, while the food, wine, beer, and cocktails will showcase the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Shingletown Northwest Pub & Eatery is opening this weekend, and we look forward to introducing you to a little bit of neighborhood history alongside delicious Pacific Northwest food and beverages. From daily special Deviled Eggs, to a savory Oyster Po Boy and hot seasonal fruit crumble, you’re going to love the delicious fare that this newbie to the Ballard neighborhood is offering.
