The Makings of a Fantastic Seattle Sports Bar
Sports bars fill every city with plenty of hotspots to catch a mid-season game, religiously follow your favorite (underdog) team, and celebrate a championship win. But what makes a great Seattle sports bar?
We think we’ve figured it out…
The Tech: Of course, the best sports bar will have plenty of TVs and good sound so that you don’t miss a thing, no matter where you’re sitting. A great sports bar will have enough TVs (and angle them correctly) so that there’s no bad seat in the house. It helps if they can take advantage of outdoor seating when the weather’s good, or heat and cover it when the weather’s not-so-good, for major events like the Super Bowl or World Cup. We have 20 large flat screens here at Ballard Loft, plus a 65-incher to pop out on the patio for big game days!
The Beer: The next most important thing – or perhaps the most important thing, depending on your priorities – is the beer. Pitchers of beer make it even better for game day sharing, and with several fantastic local beers on tap, a Seattle sports bar (such as… Ballard Loft, maybe?) cannot go wrong.
The Food: Onion rings, tots, potato skins, nachos, mozzarella sticks… The list of game-day-friendly bar food can go on and on. You want food that tastes delicious and compliments the beer you’re drinking as you cheer on your team – and the best kind of sports bar will keep you from going hungry with some tasty bites (or entrées, if you’re hungry for a full meal).
The Games: During commercial breaks, before the game, after the game, or as a break to blow off steam if your team is playing sub-par, a good sports bar will have some other forms of entertainment… bar games! In addition to a couple of fun arcade games, Ballard Loft is home to a shuffleboard and pool table (upstairs in our actual loft).
The Fans: We love our fans, because they’re pretty well behaved (well, when we’re all going nuts because it’s clear as day that the Seahawks are finally going to have a Super Bowl win, it’s a madhouse, but a totally reasonable one!). They’re also a lot of fun! A great sports bar is nothing without a bunch of fans who are passionate about their sport, their team, and having a great time.
Come on over to the best Seattle sports bar (in our admittedly biased opinion)!
